For restaurants

The app people open when they don't know what to order.

Someone sits down at your place, opens the menu and can't decide. They open Makan. It answers with what your diners keep coming back for and what wins when they play Eat or Yeet, not ads and not star ratings.

Eats

Every time someone picks your dish, you get an Eat.

A star is awarded. An Eat is earned, one diner at a time.

Michelin

A Michelin star.

One inspector's opinion.

Makan

Everyone who ate there.

Their photos. Their picks.

When a diner picks a meal at your place over a meal somewhere else in Eat or Yeet, your dish gets an Eat and so do you. Eats add up for life.

  • Every month, the restaurant with the most Eats in your city gets published: in the app, on this site, and on our Instagram.
  • Only people who ate at your place can give you one. Eat or Yeet compares a person's own meals, nothing else.
  • The earlier you're on Makan, the more Eats you have. The standings show when you joined.

What happens today

Your name travels with every meal.

  • Every meal a guest saves at your place carries your name. Their friends see it in their feed, with the photo.
  • When a guest craves one of your dishes (a tap on a friend's meal that saves it to their Cravings list), Discover reminds them the next time they're nearby, with the distance.
  • Eat or Yeet ranks your dish against everything else they've eaten. Win, and you're in their Top 4, on their profile, with your name on it.
  • A QR code for your venue. Scan it and Makan opens on your restaurant's page.

Meet your Maître d'

Your best regular, with a title.

Someone becomes the Maître d' of your restaurant by showing up: two visits inside 60 days, and whoever comes most holds it. Earned by eating, never bought. Lose it and nobody is told. Come in again and win it back.

They can leave a short guide to your place: 'Always get this,' 'Try this if…,' 'Good to know.' A real regular telling everyone else what to order.

You already do this for the regulars you know by face. Makan just writes it down, so every new diner gets the advice they would give.

You see who your Maître d' is in the app, by first name, so the coffee goes to the right person.

Why it matters

Regulars are the business.

60%
of restaurant revenue comes from repeat guests, across more than 100 million guest records.
Olo, 2024
48%
of guests say staff remembering their name or usual order matters more than anything else. That is more than double the 22% who put a points-based reward first.
Toast & Resy, The Regulars Report, 2026

Reward showing up, not reviews.

Good rewards are small and personal: a saved table, a coffee on the house, first taste of a new dish, a small sign that you noticed. Pick whatever suits your place.

The reward is for showing up. It is never for leaving a review.
